yeap. i am so looking forward to start school!
okay maybe i said that because today i feel
so bored. but i'm trying to enjoy my almost gone holidays
as much as i can.
3 MONTHS PLUS OF HOLIDAYS ARE ALMOST OVER!!
if you're going to poly then lucky you.
still have like 2 more months..
i'm looking forward to making new friends
in my new school which ever it may be.
and of course i hope to do well.

HOW I STUDIED FOR O LEVELS :

English:

the only subject that i got A1 for..
the fact is.. I DIDN'T STUDY FOR IT. yah. really!
i mean, it's not a study subject.. you have to accumulate
over years of reading books and observing how the book is written.
like how they phrase their sentence and everything.
nearing to the exams i just took out the TYS and attempted some past year
papers and did the summary by underlining the points and
trying to narrow down the words. and i read example essays.
i didn't memorise them because i'm not gonna write down the exact same
thing in o levels so there's no point. but i read those to get ideas
and catchy phrases and words, and the writer's opinion.
when i write my essays i always prefer to write about my own experience.
rather than make up some story with fake emotions,
unless you are really good at it.
yah. i think like giving your own opinion about something you
feel strongly about will interest the marker.
who would wanna give good marks for a boring, common,
and repetitive essay. right? i wouldn't, if you are the marker you wouldn't
either!

Literature:

i got an A2. i did study by flipping through all the notes, memorising
the personalities of the characters, memorise the incidents that happened
and the meaning behind the character's actions..
not to mention reading the book more than once.
mdm nathan helped us to memorise by asking us
to write on a piece of paper exactly what happened
and when it happened.
emotions that the characters feel when faced with a particular
situation.. yeah. and of course practice by writing some essays on your own.
i didn't get the teacher to mark though. i just corrected them myself
and add in points that i miss.
i found out that i memorise stuff better when i write them out
but i don't know about you.

Combined Humanities:
i got an A2.. i did last minute study on this subject because it was
one of my stronger subs as compared to others.
but i made use of normal lesson time to remember stuff,
read example essays the teachers gave.. highlight key points
and practice writing the essays using the template that was given to me..
i also wrote some essays myself following the qns in the booklet.
few days before the exams i just chiong memorise all the chapters that i
want to do in the exams and remember all the details.

Science[phy/chem]:
i got an A2.. i completed the TYS last min.. and only once..
so don't follow me.. i remember all the formulas and the
theories and memorise the notes and processes.
and it was also a kind of last min thing. like a month before
my exams.. just be consistent during the year i guess.

ya that's my 4 distinctions..

Math:
i got a B3.. this is seriously the grace of God..
i screwed my math for the whole year..
like a week before the o's then i started chionging my TYS
and asking my church friends questions and
just attempt all the math qns hard or easy, i squeezed all my brain
juice out to solve..
i just did the best that i could since there was not much left to
do as it was such a last min thing.
i remember crying as i was trying out some question that i couldnt solve
for very long.. and then i realise that i could because i told myself
that if it cant be solved it wouldn't be in the book.
i realised that if i stay calm, keep working on the qn, if i get the wrong answer just
try another method or check, i can get the answer.
too bad i did it last min.

Biology:
I FAILED. YAH.
so there's nothing much to say here except that
i should have been consistent in my revision since the begginning
of sec 3.
this subject is NOT a last minute cramming subject.
you'll get brain freeze trust me. don't say i didn't warn you.
info overload. there's alot of content to remember.
yah. so just be consistent.

Chinese:
B4. =.= my chinese which i hate to the core got better than my bio.
so funny right. my whole secondary school life i've been failing,
sleeping in class, and skipping my homework..
i think the teachers also thought i was hopeless..
and then Ms You came and taught us like a 2-3 months before our
exams and then i dont know why i think she changed my way
of thinking that chinese just sucks.. so i just decided to work
hard till the o's and then i can throw it away forever..
yah. i had difficulty reading the texts and had to check the dictionary and
ask like every 5 min.. but i still checked la.. just tahan..
i practiced all the test papers.. but i could never finish doing them
when time was up.. i was very slow in the compre section because my
reading sucked and there was alot of words i didn't understand..
but i just practiced lo.
and then by God's grace i finally finished my first chinese test paper
on the day of my chinese o's.. when i finished i even had one minute left
to check. it was a great accomplishment to me. having hated chinese
for almost as long as i can remember...
so if you work hard, and tahan, sure can one..
if me, a hardcore chinese hater can, you sure can one lor.

my o's was kind of a last minute thing and i really regret.
yeah. so start revision early..

apparently my feud with chinese isn't over,
because i am going to jc. DARN IT..
okay see you!
